「Parametric Studies of Massive Circumstellar Disks」

- abstract -
The existence of circumstellar disks has been recently observed in
several massive protostellar candidates. However, these disk are usually
shrouded by an envelope, making it difficult to determine its
properties. We have developed a 2-D radiative transfer code using
flux-limited diffusion (FLD) approximation to investigate massive star
formation sites. Using our code, we have seen that most of the intensity
is radiated in the far-infrared range due to re-emission by dust
particles within the disk. We also calculated the theoretical image in
the face-on and edge-on views. Furthermore, we investigated how the
different disk parameters affect the spectral energy distribution
(SEDs). We believe that our work may be used to infer disk parameters
from physical observables.
