Example movies of HMCS-G output
There are two movies made by the output result of HMCS-G. Both of them
are Microsoft AVI files.

Dwarf-all.avi
-
Simulation on the formation of a dwarf galaxy under ultraviolet
background radiation in a cold dark matter-domineted universe.
The hydrodynamics with radiative transfer of ultraviolet photons
is solved with a newly developed radiation-SPH scheme.
The evolution from redshift 100 to 3 is pursued.
The green dots denote cold gas, the red dots are ionized gas
and the blue dots are stars.
First, baryonic gas falls into a dark matter potential to form
filamentary structures. After the universe is reionized, metagalactic
ultraviolet irradiates the filamentary clouds. Then, the bulk of gas is
evaporated due to the heating by ultraviolet radiation, while
a gas component shielded from ultraviolet radiation is converted
into stars, then leaving small galaxies.

Dwarf-gas.avi
-
Same as Dwarf-all.avi, but just baryonic gas component
is shown using volume rendering. Colors represent density
levels in logarithmic scales.
In both simulations, a Linux PC cluster with 16 to 32 processors are
used for HMCS client and a single board of GRAPE-6 is used. They are
examples of hybrid computing of radiation hydrodynamics and gravity
calculation. The numerical results are processed by 3-D volume rendering.
